Global Senior Services believes when it comes to healthcare, one of the most vulnerable groups of people are the elderly. Seniors’ healthcare needs can be very individualized and complex. For instance, an older person who has cognitive issues may not have the language to adequately describe their pain. A perfectly healthy senior may be unguarded against a fall risk which could reduce their quality of life in a split second. Senior Services Consulting

Global Medical Services believes the lives of our senior population can be greatly improved by addressing unique geo-specific needs in the following ways:

• Consultants will assess and survey the unique needs of a particular country or region including: unsafe or challenging topography, government and income resources, family and support, multi-generational housing vs. senior facility housing based on cultural and societal norms

• Consultants will assess and survey common yet costly challenges in a particular senior population such as fall risks. Fall risks not only endanger a patient but can also alter family dynamics, create a need for long-term care-givers, increase government healthcare costs and create litigation issues for privately-owned senior housing facilities. Based on these assessments and surveys Global Senior Services consultants can create custom programs to prevent and lessen the effects of these risks

• Consultants will assess and survey areas of senior care where our clients may feel there is need for improvement or even a complete lack of attention

Program Development

Here are just two examples of custom programs Global Senior Services have developed for their clients and how the program services are delivered.

Community Falls Program

• Assessment and evaluation of the current state of systems using fall prevention workshops, which both educate and evaluate seniors while at the same time gather quantitative data through questionnaires

• Create reports based on assessments and surveys, educating and advising our clients on the specific grievances, needs, wants and risks of the current senior population

• Create and deliver training for both patients and healthcare providers to reduce falls and fall risks.

• Create accountability systems and protocols to track effectiveness and efficiency of these systems

• Establish government or large-scale best practices for reducing age-related falls

• Develop a dashboard for monitoring community falls and related indicators of risk

End-of-Life Program

• Assessments will reveal gaps in current protocols and services. Focusing on symptom management, hospice care, home support, psychological/spiritual care for the patients and also family and caregiver support services

• Development of best practices for co-addressing end-of-life pain management and caregiver support

• Creating needs-based protocols for common issues in end of life care such as prolonged suffering, expense of care, need for professional caregivers and hospice workers and support for loved ones.

• Assessments of how current end-of-life approach is treated differently at home, hospital or nursing facility and creating systems unique to each scenario

• Creating a standard for best practices which caters to the needs of the patient, their loved ones and healthcare providers while never losing sight of and always considering the sensitive nature of this time of life which we all must face.
